A collection of 4 low-waste, thoughtful gift ideas, kind to the planet, your wallet and of course, the receiver. What's more, you have access to the free recipes on our website; just click the links to get making.

  1. Beeswax rolled candles.

    Decorative beeswax candles

Beeswax sheets and candle wicks can be purchased online at reasonable prices. You can also use cookie cutters and wax sheets to personalise them. This DIY is as simple as it sounds: it involves rolling a beeswax sheet around a wick. The heat from your hands should make the wax wrap more pliable, although a hair dryer can be used for particularly stiff sheets or if it is too cold!

  2. Tea mixes

Buy the ingredients in bulk online. Alternatively, ingredients can be seasonal foraged or kitchen waste, like dried peels (in a low oven for approx. 40 mins). Try combining dried mint, lemon peel and chamomile for a soothing evening tea, or ginger, orange peel and cinnamon for a warming winter blend. Click the link for our recipe. Pop the mix into a reused jar with a ribbon and handwritten label for a personalised touch.

  3. Bath salt mixes

A relaxing treat that’s easy to make and personalise. Combine Epsom salts with a few drops of essential oils, oats, and dried herbs or peels. They make a lovely self-care gift that looks and smells luxurious but costs very little. Put in a jar or a muslin pouch.
